The Indaver Community Grant Scheme for 2026 is now open for applications and I want to encourage local clubs groups and voluntary organisations across East Meath to engage with this valuable funding opportunity.
This scheme continues to be a vital source of support for communities in our area. The closing date for completed applications is Friday January 23rd 2026 and I would strongly encourage any eligible group to begin the application process as early as possible. This funding can make a real difference to local projects and initiatives and it has consistently delivered tangible benefits for communities year after year.
The scheme operates under the planning conditions attached to the Indaver Waste to Energy facility. A levy is applied for every tonne of material accepted into the facility and this contribution is returned directly to the local community through the
grant scheme. The fund is overseen by the Community Liaison Committee of which I am a member and its purpose is to provide financial assistance to community based clubs and voluntary organisations for projects that improve facilities services and
quality of life in the locality.
Through my involvement on the Liaison Committee I have seen at first hand how impactful this scheme has been. It has supported a wide range of projects that may otherwise have struggled to secure funding and it has helped communities to deliver improvements that benefit people of all ages. From sporting facilities to community spaces the reach of the scheme has been broad and meaningful.
One of the most notable examples of what can be achieved through this funding is the Duleek Bellewstown Community Facility. This project has provided a modern and accessible space for community use and has become an important asset for the area. It stands as a clear example of how targeted investment can strengthen community life and deliver long term benefits.
Local sports clubs have also benefited enormously from the scheme. Clubs such as St Mary’s Donore St Colmcille’s GFC Eastern Gaels and Duleek AFC have received funding to undertake important works improve facilities and support participation. These clubs play a central role in our communities and the work they do goes far beyond sport. They provide structure opportunity and connection for young people and adults alike and they deserve continued support.
Each year a wide variety of groups benefit from the scheme including youth organisations community centres cultural groups environmental initiatives and senior groups. Many of these organisations are run entirely by volunteers who give generously of their time and energy to support others. The contribution they make to community wellbeing cannot be overstated and it is only right that they are supported through initiatives like this.
I remain strongly committed to working on behalf of all local voluntary and community organisations. I will continue to support applications where possible and to advocate for fair and effective distribution of funding that reflects local needs. If your group has a project in mind whether it relates to facilities equipment accessibility or community development I would encourage you to consider applying.
The Indaver Community Grant Scheme continues to demonstrate how meaningful investment at local level can deliver real outcomes. I look forward to seeing another strong round of applications for 2026 and to the positive projects that will emerge as a result.
I encourage all eligible groups to engage with the scheme and I remain available to offer guidance or support where needed. Our communities are strongest when they are supported and this scheme plays an important role in making that happen.
